VideoSonic technology provides dynamic way finding at the newly opened official NYC Visitor’s Information Center. Interactive Tables use touch and object recognition allowing visitors to create an itinerary of places of interest, events and destinations using a Google Map interface. This customized guide book can be emailed, SMS text to a cell phone, or viewed as a printout. Visitors can preview their destinations as a real time Google Earth fly-through on a 4×4 High Definition Video Wall.
When the Statue of Liberty re-opened to the public in 2003, visitors were welcomed with a new Wayfinding and Information Display Systems designed and installed by VideoSonic. Careful attention was made to assure that the new technology blended well with the historical interiors of this National monument. An example of that is the Lobby Information Display; the antique bronze monitor surround matches the existing 150 year old metalwork.
